Davis named an MRC Outstanding Coach
The Minnesota River Conference, which is disbanding at the end of the 2024 season, names outstanding coaches each year.
This year they honored four coaches who have been coaching for more than 110 years combined.
Bruce Davis of Tri-City United, Joe Scoblic of Lester Prairie, Chip Wolverton of Sibley East, and Jon Wroge of Norwood-Young America were the honorees this season. They were named during the MRC Coaches Social earlier this fall.
Davis has completed 37 years as a head coach. His career includes stints as a head coach in boys basketball, football, and baseball. He was also an assistant coach for all those sports over the years. He started his coaching career at Claremont and then he continued at Montgomery-Lonsdale and now Tri-City United.
Davis has been elected to the Minnesota State High School Baseball Coaches Hall of Fame, was the 1999 Minnesota Class A Coach of the Year, and has been named MRC Coach of the Year on many different occasions.
