George Frank Trnka, 89

George Frank Trnka, 89, of Montgomery, died on Tuesday, October 23, 2018 at Mala Strana in New Prague. Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 27, 2018 from 9am to 11am at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Montgomery. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11am with Father Victor Valencia officiating. Interment will be held at Calvary Cemetery in Montgomery. Military honors will be provided by the Montgomery Area Veterans Honor Guard. 

George was born on December 2, 1928 in New Prague to George and Emma (Pinc) Trnka. George served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War as a Staff Sergeant. George was united in marriage to Katie Trzecinski at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Montgomery. George worked as a maintenance mechanic for 41 years at Thermal King in Bloomington. After retirement he worked at Seneca in Montgomery for 20 years. George enjoyed ice fishing, going to auctions, watching Twins baseball, and tinkering and fixing things. He was a member of the American Legion and the VFW.

George is survived by his wife, Katie Trnka of Montgomery; children, Larry Trnka of Montgomery, Mary Ann (Steve) Wroblewski of Montgomery, Ron Trnka (Marilyn) of Kilkenny, and Tim (Deb) Trnka of Montgomery; 5 grandchildren, Derek, Jason (Ellie), Julie, Amy and Robert (Alison); 3 great-grandchildren, Wyatt, William, and Weston; siblings, John Trnka of Rosemount, and Joe (Sandy) Trnka of Cottage Grove; brother-in-law, John Zvanovec of Cambridge.

George is preceded in death by son, Bernie Trnka; sister, Lillian Zvanovec, Irene (Fritz) Stepka; and sister-in-law, Barb Trnka.
