The Montgomery Area Community Club, the organization responsible for organizing Kolacky Days, announced this year’s candidates for the Kolacky Days Queen Pageant.

The candidates are Ronni Smith, daughter of Jill and Clint Smith; Aubrey Filter, daughter of Jessie and Andy Filter; Grace Barnett, daughter of Kevin and Keri Barnett, and Abby and Chris Degrood; Ellaina Novak, daughter of Tami and Gary Novak; Haley Goettl, daughter of Andrew and Catherine Goettl, and Jamie Nelson, daughter of Amber Plonsky and Adam Nelson.

Kolacky Days ambassadors receive scholarships after they successfully finish their year of required appearances and one semester of post-secondary education. The scholarship totals remain the same: Queen $2,500, First Princess $2,000, Second Princess $1,500, Miss Congeniality $1,000.

To qualify as a candidate for the pageant, students must be females in good standing in the Tri-City United School District. They must live within a given radius of Montgomery and Kilkenny. However, if they live outside the radius, they can petition the community club for approval.

The royal court is responsible for attending parades throughout the area as well as community events and appearances.
