Minnesota River edges New Prague in girls hockey

The Minnesota River girls hockey team improved to 3-2 this season with a 2-1 win over New Prague Tuesday, Nov. 21 in a game played at Le Sueur.

Sophomore Clare Hathaway scored the game-winning goal at the 12:05 mark in the third period. It was her first goal of the season. She received assists from freshman McKenna Andresen, her team-leading third of the season and freshman Noelle Simonette’s first assist.

Senior Makenna Mueller scored her team-leading third goal in the first period giving the Bulldogs a 1-0 lead.

New Prague tied the score two minutes into the third period on a goal by Makayla Prochaska assisted by Callie Kroska.

Sophomore Annika Magelee stopped 21-of-22 shots on goal to preserve the win over New Prague.

The Trojans fell to 0-3-1 with the loss.
