In a special meeting Monday, the TCU School Board approved five personnel items. Among them was the resignation of Superintendent Dr. Teri Preisler.

In an electronic communication to district residents, Preisler said it is an honor to serve the Tri-City United School District, students, staff, families, and community members and that she will retire at the end of the school year on June 30.

Preisler came to the TCU District in 2013 after working in Owatonna, Le Sueur-Henderson and Faribault districts. She replaced Matt Helgerson who became the Superintendent of Jordan Schools.

Preisler expressed her gratitude for her years of working with the TCU staff, school board and community members.

“It has been a great privilege to work with a dedicated collaborative staff who always focuses on giving their all to our student; community members who have become open to and supportive of the opportunities that our united Tri-City United School District has been and is able to provide our students; a School Board willing to do all that is needed to fulfill our TCU mission; a Leadership Team committed to the growth and development of all - students and adults.”

The TCU Board will begin the search for a new superintendent in the coming days with the expectation of hiring to be completed in April.

The board also approved the resignation of physical education teacher Ken Helland and custodian Mary Lou Glende.
