TCU closes Tuesday and Wednesday; implements Blended Learning Days
TCU Schools closed Tuesday and Wednesday
Tri-City United Schools are closed Tuesday, January 29 and Wednesday, January 30 due to the predicted National Weather Service Wind Chill Warning.
Both days will be blended learning days, which the district explained will include a variety of activities.
PreK - Grade 6
• complete at least 5 activities from activity choice board
• sign and return activity sheet to their teacher on the next school day
• K-6 Choice Boards (Links)
On a Blended Learning Day, parents will:
• monitor student progress on Blended Learning Day activities
• communicate questions for educators via email or other digital medium
• sign and return activity sheet with student to school on the next school day
Educators will communicate plans by 10 a.m. and be available for questions from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Grades 7 - 12
On a Blended Learning Day, students will:
• access their educators school web page
• complete Blended Learning Day assignments
• participate in Blended Learning Day activities
• communicate questions for educators via email or other appropriate digital medium
On a Blended Learning Day, parents will:
• monitor student progress on Blended Learning Day activities, as appropriate
Educators will be available for questions or support by email and phone from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The phone number to contact a child’s teacher is through the google voice number that has been set up by the teacher and communicated previously; and will be indicated in the communication sent to you by your child’s teacher.
Three days will be given for students to complete lessons or assignments which they needed help or other resources to finish. Additional support or accommodations will be made for students with little/no internet access.
