Titans fall to Huskies 30-9

The Jackson County Central (JCC) Huskies put an end to the Tri-City United Football Team playoff run, beating the Titans 30-9 on Saturday in the Section 3AAA tournament.

The Huskies commanded a lead on their second possession of the game when their quarterback, junior, Rudy Voss connected with tight end, Keaton Storm for a 24-yard touchdown pass.

The scoreless second quarter belonged to the Titans when its defense recovered four Huskie fumbles. However, those recoveries failed to result in any scored points, which sent the Titans into halftime trailing 0-7.

After making adjustments between the halves, the Titans rebounded in the third quarter. TCU started the new period with the football and saw running back Sam Barnack and wide receiver Tyler Sladek adding yards before Peyon Collins ran in a two-yard touchdown.

Another highlight shortly after was when Titan defense sacked JCC’s Voss in the end zone, which resulted in a two-point safety for the Titans.

The fourth quarter however, quickly saw the Titan lead disappear when JCC’s running back Bradley Buhl Jr. score three touchdowns on the ground. Two two-point conversions and an extra point kick finalized the score to 30-9 for the Huskies.
