Titans limit turnovers, beat LSH 69-63
The first time the Titans faced off against the Le Suer- Henderson Giants on December 20, the TCU team beat LSH by 15 points. On February 7, the margin was only six points, with TCU besting LSH 69-63.
Titan Coach Eric Specht is proud how his girls finished the basketball game.
“I thought we executed well and made some clutch free throws down the stretch. Offensively, we did a nice job limiting our turnovers, giving ourselves a chance to put up points,” he said.
The Titans entered halftime with a 35-32 score, and Specht said they need to do a better job on the defensive end.
“There is no reason we should put up almost 70 points and worry about winning games,” he said. “Winning is not easy. I hope our girls take time to enjoy this win. That said, we have an important week coming up.”
Erica Jackson led our team with 19 points (including five three-point baskets). Jessica Dull played a solid game and finished with 16 points and 16 rebounds. Sam Lang finished with 17 points and 7 rebounds.
Zumbrota Mazeppa
The Titans lost a close game when they went up against Zumbrota Mazeppa on February 4, 74-79.
“Our team did a lot of things right, especially on the offensive end. The girls did an excellent job limiting our turnovers, which led to more scoring opportunities,” Specht stated. “We shot our free throws at a much higher percentage than we previously have. Jess Dull and Grace Factor did a nice job attacking Zumbrota’s 2-3 zone, and Erica Jackson shot the ball well from the outside for us.”
