Albert Malecha, 96

Albert F. Malecha, age 96, of Montgomery, died on Saturday, July 14, 2018 at Traditions of Montgomery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 17, 2018 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Montgomery. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, July 17, 2018 at 11:30 a.m. at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church with KC Rosary fifteen minutes prior to visitation at the Church. Father George Grafsky will be officiating. Burial will be held at St. Wenceslaus Cemetery in New Prague following mass.

 Albert was born December 21, 1921 in Lonsdale, Minnesota to Albert G. Malecha and Ludmilla (Havel) Malecha. Albert was united in marriage to Mildred “Millie” Korbel on November 12, 1945 at St. Wenceslaus in New Prague. The couple started their married life south of Lonsdale on the family farm.

In 1963, Albert started at Faribault Foods as a mechanic and later became a plant manager. Albert enjoyed fishing, rose gardening, carpentry, hunting, playing cards, community service volunteer, and spending time with his family and grandchildren. Albert was also part of the KC’s and Twin Lakes Sportsmen’s Club.

 Albert is survived by children, Darlene Ruhland of Montgomery, Melvin (Jeannie) Malecha of New Prague, and Dennis (Sue) Malecha of Rosemount; brothers, Leonard Malecha of Lonsdale, Roman (Bonnie) Malecha of Montgomery; sister-in-law, Lillian Malecha-Novotny; 7 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-granddaughter.

 Albert is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mildred; brothers, Stanley, Joe, Robert, and George Malecha; sisters, Lillian Tupy and Helen Novak; son-in-law, George Ruhland.
