Mayme Lucille (Dejcmar) Jindra, 105

Mayme Lucille (Dejcmar) Jindra, 105 years 10 months and 6 days, passed away peacefully at her home in Montgomery on Monday, October 19, 2020.

Mayme was born on December 13, 1914, in Montgomery to Edward and Mary (Uhlir) Dejcmar. She graduated from Sherman High School in Montgomery in 1932.

Mayme was united in marriage to the love of her life, John James Jindra, on October 12, 1940, at St. John Lutheran Church in Montgomery. They lived on a farm off Highway 21 in Le Sueur County.

While working the farm with her husband, she also enjoyed working at the drug store in Montgomery, until her retirement.

When husband Jack passed in 1984, she stayed for a while on the home place before moving to a house within the city limits of Montgomery. When daily chores and yard work began to challenge her, it was finally time for her to relax and enjoy herself.

She was one of the first residents to occupy the new assisted living facility, Traditions of Montgomery, where she resided until the day she died.

Mayme was a member of the St. John Lutheran Church, and was proud to donate the first octave of bells for the Church Bell Choir. She enjoyed traveling and seeing sites by land, sea, air, bus and train with her sisters, friends, and co-workers.

She belonged to a card club, enjoyed reading, and self-taught herself to play the organ. When she moved to Traditions, she donated that organ to their Chapel.

She had a great love for her Bohemian heritage, spoke Czech whenever she could, and enjoyed good old time music and Czech food.

She is survived by seven nephews and five nieces: Clayton Kukacka of Waterville; Leon Kukacka of Le Center; Lila Korbel of Huntingdon, Tennessee; Joel Kukacka of New Prague; Lucille (Lucy) Connolly of Houston, Missouri;  Dwight Richter of Dayton, Washington; David Richter of Madras, Oregon; Maryann Coon of Tigard, Oregon; William (Bill) Raatz of Albert Lea; Barry Raatz of Waterville; Suzanne McKee of Mason City, Iowa; and Penny Joecks of Waseca.

She is preceded in death by her husband, John (Jack) James Jindra; her parents; siblings, Lillian Kukacka, Gladys Richter, Lucille Raatz Ruth, Harold Dejcmar; and nephews Clarence, Harold and Jeffrey (Jeff) Kukacka.

A memorial service is planned for the spring of 2021. Arrangements are with Schoenbauer Funeral Home in Montgomery. 507-357-6116. On-line condolences may be left at www.schoenbauerfuneralhome.com
