“We rebounded nicely after our loss last week and set the tone going forward. We are hoping to rattle off a few wins in a row here and build some momentum,” NP coach Jeremy Kalal said.
Trojans 17, Mankato 10 The Trojans shredded the Mankato defense, building an 11-1 lead at the end of the first period. They backed off in the second period and took a 13-6 lead into the third period where the two teams fought to a 4-4 draw in the period.
Brady Nelson, Trystan Seger, Logan Bremel and Elliot Soukup all had three goals for the Trojans. Bremel added two assists. Carter Tupy netted a pair of goals. Bobbi Star, Lorelai Hamre and Aiden Voss also scored for New Prague. Dayle Carroll added an assist for NP.
“After a very tough game last week against Lakeville it was nice for us to come out really strong against Mankato,” Kalal said. “Elliot Soukup had his hat trick after only 40 seconds into the game. Our starters came out really strong and played fast which allowed us to build a lead early and keep the game under control. We were able to get every player significant minutes and we love when we can do that in a varsity game.”
