Clarence Thomas Bruzek, 81

Clarence Thomas Bruzek, 81, died Wednesday, 7 August 2019 at home. He was born in New Prague, Minnesota 18 August 1937, son of the late Jacob J. and Emma (Chlan) Bruzek.

Clarence was a proud Vietnam Veteran of the United States Marine Corps, having served from 2 July 1958 until being honorably discharged 30 June 1967.  After his time with the Marine Corps, Clarence went on to serve as a civilian with the Department of the Defense, having a 20+ year career working mainly in the Benefits Division at the Navy Annex.  Following a distinguished military and civilian career, Clarence retired to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina where he enjoyed reading, riding his bicycle, visiting his family, and photography.

He is survived by a son, Brian Michael Bruzek (Lauren) a daughter, Stacie Bruzek Sutphin (Rich), his four grandsons Andrew, Alexander, Tyler, and Austin, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his siblings Christine (Bruzek) Lukkes, Cyril Bruzek, and Celia (Bruzek) Solheid. 

Clarence will be buried with military honors at 10:00am Friday, 30 August 2019 at Quantico National Cemetery, Marine Corps Base Quantico,18424 Joplin Road, Triangle, Virginia.  Guests are invited to join the family at the Cemetery, or anytime after 12:30pm at the home of Rich & Stacie Sutphin, 23695 James Monroe Highway, Aldie, Virginia 20105.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Semper Fi Fund, which provides financial assistance to combat wounded, critically ill, and catastrophically injured service members of all military branches at www.semperfifund.org
