Garry L. Goble, 75
Garry L. Goble, age 75, of Elko New Market, died peacefully at home on Sunday, June 9, 2024. Garry was born on January 8, 1949, in Brainerd, Minnesota, to Donald and Myra (Edeburn) Goble. He grew up in Minneapolis but spent most of his life “south of the river” in the Prior Lake/New Prague area. Garry served in the US Army for a number of years, which inspired a legacy of his children also serving. After service, he spent his work life in plastic manufacturing in injection molding.
Garry was a military history buff and took that into a life-time interest in model making of both military vehicles and classic cars. He was an avid reader, consuming action and spy novels, some history, and especially Clive Cussler and Tom Clancy novels. His love of music spanned almost all genres but especially the Big Band and the 50’s and 60’s eras. Garry tended to be a bit quirky with a dry sense of humor. His witty sarcasm and self-deprecating humor will be sorely missed by his family.
Garry is survived by his children, Angela (Tom) Pint of Elko New Market, Melody (Brian) Stephens of Clarksville, TN, John Goble of Montgomery, Kimberly (Tom) Armstrong of Phoenix, AZ; grandchildren, Zachary (Katie) Pint, Greta (Trevor) Petersen, Paige (Mayowa) Lekuti, Brianna Pint, Ross Stephens, Darrian Goble, Logan Goble; great-grandchildren, Nolan, Archie, Henry, Samuel; sisters, Kathy (Miles) Oyen of Minneapolis & Darlene (John) Anderson of Lakeville.
Celebration of Life Service will be held Tuesday, July 9, 2024, at 8:30 a.m. at Bruzek Funeral Home with Reverend Diane Goulson officiating. Visitation will take place ½ hour prior to service starting at 8:00 a.m. Burial will occur following the service at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis.
