High school to celebrate Snoball next week

Snoball Week will be celebrated at New Prague High School from Monday, Jan. 27, to Friday, Jan. 31. The annual week-long event includes dress up days, a Dodgeball Tournament, the coronation of Snoball King and Queen and the Snoball Dance.

The Dress Up Days for Snoball are Monday - Groutfit/ Comfy Day, Tuesday - Camo Day, Wednesday - College Day, Thursday - Hawaiian Day and Friday - Jersey Day.

On Wednesday and Thursday NP Nutrition will be serving shakes and teas for a small price. Students can also participate in a Dodgeball Tournament on Thursday. It will be held from 1:50-2:32 p.m. in the high school gyms. Those wishing to participate must sign up in advance and will get an early release from class.

On the morning of Tuesday, Jan. 21, the candidates for the Snoball Royalty were announced with eight senior boys for king and eight senior girls for queen. King candidates are Josh Anderson, Jacob Anderson, Brian Hennes, Matt Schmidt, Cade Pavek, Thomas Eckstein, Jake Trachte and Luke Tupy. Queen candidates are Danielle Anderson, Chloe Jones, Danielle Solheid, Madi Crawford, Sarah Berg, Lauren Moravchik, Lauren Kuehl and Kaidyn Mulvihill.

There will be an early release on Friday, Jan. 31, for a Pepfest and the coronation of Snoball Royalty, which will be from 1:45-2:32 p.m.

The Snoball Dance is semi-formal and will be held on Saturday, Feb. 1. Those wishing to attend need to bring their student IDs to get in. It begins at 8 p.m. with doors locked at 9 p.m. A concession stand will be open. The dance lasts until 11 p.m.

Students are encouraged to show school spirit during the week by attending activities that week.
