Injuries that need healing

Have you ever been hurt in such a way that it needs a long time to heal? I’m not talking about the type where, as a kid, you wiped out on your bike on the street and you ended up getting this big gash that eventually scabbed over and healed by itself until the scab came off. I’m talking about where something was broken deep inside or there was a sickness of the body, where both those injuries required help from others. There are also those injuries of the spirit or the soul, where a family member or a close friend dies and you just feel sad or numb afterwards. In those cases people usually reach out to another close person or someone in their faith or someone who knows what those feelings are like to help them get back to feeling somewhat normal.
In healing from those deep of injuries it always takes time and help from others besides the ones trained to do the healing. There are usually family and friends who reach out, no matter the injury, to give a helping hand. There are priests, pastors, or simply friends who can help when it feels like you’re never going to be whole again. That’s an important aspect of healing, getting to a point where you feel whole even if you did end up losing something in the process of healing.
This past year there have been many injuries of many types and it will be some time before those injuries heal. The important thing is many are going to need to be allowed to heal and others are going to realize they need to be healed also. It won’t be an easy healing process, it will take time, but we will all need to become whole again.
