Lloyd “Angel” Troendle, 80
Lloyd “Angel” Troendle, age 80, of New Prague, died peacefully on Friday, June 26, 2020 at St. Joseph Hospital in St. Paul.
Angel was born on October 16, 1939 in Minneapolis to Raymond W. and Judith (Koehler) Troendle. He grew up in Excelsior and graduated from Minnetonka High School. He entered the US Army following graduation and served in Germany, receiving a letter of commendation from the commanding officer for whom he served as a driver. He married the love of his life, Cynthia “Cindy” Johnson in April, 1986 in Chaska, MN. Angel worked in maintenance at Minnetonka High School until retiring in his early 60’s. He and Cindy resided in Chaska until moving to their dream home in rural New Prague in the early 90’s. He enjoyed motorcycle riding and belonged to a bike club during his Excelsior years and continued riding throughout his life. He loved the wildlife that would frequent their rural landscape and fed a menagerie of animals. He enjoyed gardening and was famous for his horseradish. His ready smile, a kind word, and a positive outlook on life meant that Angel had friends wherever he went; everybody loved him. He was always proud of the fact that “he did it his way!” He will be missed by so many.
Angel is survived by his wife, Cindy of New Prague; sister, Diane (Dennis) Sullivan of Delano; niece, Jennifer (Rod) Hasse of Independence; great-niece and nephew, Lily & Wyatt. He is preceded in death by his parents.
