Luella Margaret Lapic, 90

Luella Margaret Lapic, 90, died on Wednesday, August 26th, due to complications from a fall.

Lu was born on July 20, 1930 on the family farm in Montgomery as the middle child of Joseph and Anna Choudek.  After graduating from high school, she worked at the bank.

Lu married Leonard Lapic on June 14, 1951 in Montgomery and together they raised three children.  Lu and Len enjoyed dancing to Polka music, watching the New Prague Orioles, cookouts for their family’s New Prague Half Marathon relay team and their travels for reunions of the US Army’s 196th Arctic Warriors.  After Len passed away in 2005, Lu never missed a beat at supporting her children and grandchildren.

Lu enjoyed her garden and talks at her kitchen table.  She was at her happiest when she was with her children and grandchildren.  In addition to receiving her love, Lu’s grandchildren also appreciated her laugh, cinnamon rolls, zucchini bread, Santa Bear collection and a Chrysler that became known as “the LaBron”.

Lu is survived by her son Dale (Kathy) Lapic, her daughter Denise (John) Murphy, her grandchildren Darren, Tyler, Drew, Derek, Nick, Will, Anne and Margaret and 5 great-grandchildren.

She is now reunited in Heaven with her husband Leonard; her son David, siblings: Georgia and Edgerton; and parents: Anna and Joseph Choudek.

Due to COVID-19, her family will hold a private memorial.
