Milton J. “Milt” Vosejpka, 89

Milton J. “Milt” Vosejpka, age 89 of Faribault, MN passed away on Wednesday, November 4, 2020 at The Emeralds at Faribault following an extended illness.

Milton Joseph, the son of Frank and Rose (Barta) Vosejpka was born on May 2, 1931 in Lonsdale, MN.  He attended Northfield High School and graduated with the class of 1949.  On August 4, 1953 he was united in marriage to Beverly Ann Shields at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Faribault.  After his marriage Milt served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was honorably discharged in 1955.

  Milt was a life long farmer in Forest Township, near Fox Lake and Circle Lake.  He could fix anything and was a very good mechanic.  He was well respected and many family members came to him for his advice.  Milt was an avid hunter and also loved to fish.  He was also an avid fan of all sports and was referred to as the number one Faribault Falcon Booster for all the events he had attended and was the Grand Marshall of the homecoming parade one year.  He offered encouragement to all to do their best.   He especially enjoyed following and watching all of his grandchildren in their different activities.  In 1988 he retired from farming because of health problems but still stayed plenty active on the farm.  He loved his pets, especially his cat Shadow and his dog Buddy.  Beverly preceded him in death on Jan. 10, 2000 and for the past 18 years Milt enjoyed time with his lady friend Dorothy Dahl.  He was a member of the Lonsdale American Legion Post 586.

He is survived by his children, Kathy (Marvin) Armstrong of Faribault, Sue Sevcik of Lonsdale, MN, Carrie (Bryan) Emmers of Lonsdale, Merry Vosejpka of Northfield, Kim Vosejpka and Kathy Meggers of New Prague, MN, Shawn Vosejpka of Faribault and Jerney (Ralph) Miller of Faribault; by 16 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren; by his special friend, Dorothy Dahl of Faribault and by nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, daughter, Julie Neuhaus, two brothers, Ben and Bob Vosejpka and by his sister, Mabel Cesafsky.

Memorial services will be held on Monday, November 9, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home, 1725 Lyndale Ave. N., Faribault, with Bernadette Tatge, pastoral minister at Divine Mercy Catholic Church officiating.  Interment will be held at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis, MN.  The service will also be livestreamed through a link found on Milt’s obituary page at www.ParkerKohlFuneralHome.com.

Visitation will be held at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home on Sunday from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. and on Monday for one hour prior to services.
