Russell Charles Thurston, 81

Russell Charles Thurston, age 81, of Eagan, passed away Friday, July 17, 2020 with his loving family by his side. He was born June 2, 1939 in Minneapolis, MN, to Oscar W. and Irene M. (nee Ganglehoff) Thurston.

Russell is survived by his children, Steven, Gregory (Melanie), and Anne (Wencel Kubes) Thurston, and Lynn (Todd) Olson; grandchildren, Tanner Thurston, Peter (Danielle McCool) Celatka, and Benjamin Olson; brother, David (Teresa) Thurston; sister-in-law, Millicent Johnson; several nieces, nephews, and other family members.

He was preceded in death by his parents; loving wife, Carolyn Theodora (nee Johnson); and brother Richard (late Sarah) Thurston.

Russell was born and raised in Minneapolis, graduating from Vocation Technical School in 1957. He moved to Eagan in 1964, where he raised his family.

Russell served his country in the United States Air Force, and served as Vice President for Trading for Piper-Jaffray. He was a loving husband and father who always had time to devote to others. Russell was handy, resourceful, and will be forever loved and treasured.

Memorial Service will be 11 AM, Saturday, August 1, 2020 at Klecatsky and Sons Funeral Home, Eagan Chapel, 1580 Century Point, Eagan, with a Gathering of Family & Friends 1hour prior.
