Schools thrive on community support

This week’s issue of The New Prague Times features our Back to School Section.

The section includes messages from principals and administrators from area schools, talking about all the new and exciting things going on.

New Prague schools - not just the public school system, but St. Wenceslaus and Holy Cross School as well - have excellent reputations. This doesn’t happen by chance. The community supports education in many ways - including providing outstanding facilities for students, electing dedicated school board members who make good decisions in hiring administration and in having good administrators who bring in quality teachers, many of whom choose to move here and become life-long members of the community.

Today’s students are 21st Century students… born after the year 2000. The world has changed in many ways during their lifetime, and so too have our schools. The amount of technology needed to educate students, the knowledge and skills they are learning, and the types of careers they can expect to have have changed a great deal in the last 20 years. New Prague Area Schools has worked hard to keep up with the times while at the same time managing the continued growth of the district.

The youth of the schools have benefitted from these changes, and with the continued support of the community, they will continue to do so for years to come. As the new school year begins, the students and the school staff need to know that the community is behind them.
