Fred "Fritz" Bosacker, 87

Fred “Fritz” M. Bosacker, 87, of Owatonna, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Wednesday, October 23, 2019 at Birchwood Cottages in Owatonna.

Fritz was born on July 5, 1932, in Blooming Grove Township, Waseca County. He was the son of Fred and Eunice (Warner) Bosacker. He attended the Blooming Grove Country School and Waterville High School, graduating in 1950. In 1954, he was drafted into the United States Army and was stationed in Frankfurt, Germany, until he was unexpectedly called home when his mother passed away. Fritz met the love of his life, Myrna Reddeman, at a dance at Hardegger’s (their favorite spot to dance). They married on November 3, 1952, in Cleveland, MN. Fritz started his printing career first as a pressman with the Waseca Journal, then he transferred to Brown Printing Company, retiring in September of 1996, after 33 years with Brown’s. Fritz loved the printing industry. He traveled to many business magazines such as Time, Inc., was a plant manager at the East Greenville plant for a couple of years, then came back to Waseca as Quality Manager. Although never patented, Fritz and Jim Walker were responsible for inventing the Bowalker-Curve, which was used to test quality in the printing industry. After retirement, Fritz and Myrna moved to Owatonna. Fritz always loved farming, old time dancing, traveling, golfing, playing cards, whistling to the birds, traveling to northern Minnesota for the annual fishing trip with his two sons, he was a handyman to many, did fair parking, delivered Meals on Wheels and always enjoyed family events. He had a strong faith, values and work ethic. However, he was always happiest when he was surrounded by his family. Fritz was a lifetime member of the VFW, Kiwanis, St. John’s Lutheran Church and Senior Center.

He is survived by his children, Cindy (and Mike) Manriquez of Muscatine, Iowa; Scott (and Mary) Bosacker of Lake Mills, Iowa, Sherry Bosacker of Owatonna, Steven Bosacker of Washington, DC; grandsons, Joe (Mallory) Manriquez, Brady Manriquez and Tony Manriquez; granddaughters, Kati Potratz, Kelly (and Dave) Sherman; great-grandchildren, Zeke Potratz, Isaac Sherman and Charlotte Sherman; brother-in-law and wife, Dick and Iris Reddeman. In recent years, Fritz spent time with a special friend, Delores Coulter and her very special family. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Myrna who died October 26, 2008; in-laws, Frank and Ruth Reddeman; sisters, Marion, Thelma, Marjorie, Daphne, Hazel, Inez and Ollie; brother, Kenny; and sister-in-law and husband, Betty and Lloyd Seitzer.

The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the Birchwood Cottage staff and St. Croix Hospice for their loving care.
