Bonita “Bonnie” Jean Vavra, age 81, of Savage, passed away peacefully at Fairview Ridges Hospital, in Burnsville on Tuesday, February 6, 2024.
A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, April 6, 2024, at 11 a.m., with a time of gathering from 9:30-10:45 a.m., at St. John Lutheran Church, 105 Spruce Ave NW, Montgomery. Pastor Jason Pollington will preside. Bonnie will be laid to rest at St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery, Montgomery.
Bonnie was a very gifted artist. She enjoyed all kinds of arts and crafts – acrylic & watercolor painting, needlework, drawing, sewing, and especially quilting.
Bonnie is survived by her children, Connie Portlas of Houston, TX, Dawn Vavra of Norfolk, VA, Heather Vavra of Minneapolis; 9 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; sister, Janice (Jack) Harmeyer of Santa Fe, TX, brothers Gary (Becky) Johnson of Farmington, NM, Jeff (Nancy) Johnson of Grand Rapids, SD, Robert (Nancy) Rehling of Lutz, FL, sister-in-law, Dorothy Vavra of Le Center.
Bonnie is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Stanley Vavra, brother, Keith Johnson
Arrangements are with the Cremation Society of MN - Edina.
