Bartelt, Rients share WEM Softball MVP Award

WEM softball players received team awards during the team recognition held Monday, June 28.

Brielle Bartelt and Allison Rients were named the team’s Most Valuable Players.

Bartelt was named to the Class A All- State Team and Rients played in the State All-Star Games. Bartelt was also named the Best Offensive Player after hitting .526. She was among team leaders with 41 hits, 32 singles, five doubles, two triples, two home runs, 26 RBI, and 23 runs scored. She only struck out four times in 87 at bats.

The Buccaneer Teammate Award was presented to senior Ella Michael.

The Most Improved Player Award was given to sophomore Addison Taylor. Taylor pitched in 16 games, started nine, and finished with an 8-3 record. She had a 2.57 earned run average and struck out 44 batters in 73 innings pitched.
