Buccaneers win fourth straight game

For the third straight game the WEM football offense piled up more than 300 rushing yards.

This week’s opponent, Medford, allowed 332 first half yards and 47 points in a 54-8 win for the Bucs Thursday, Oct. 10.

WEM improved to 6-1 this season, winning their fourth straight game, while gaining a season-high 451 total yards, 424 on the ground.

Gavin Atherton gained 140 yards on nine carries and scored twice.

Talen Taylor gained 77 yards on five carries and completed 3-of-7 passes for 27 yards and a score.

Zach Quast rushed for a career-high 71 yards on eight carries and scored a touchdown.

Brady Murphy gained 73 yards on eight carries, scored twice, and also caught one pass.

Trey Richards gained 45 yards on eight carries.

Reed Sammon carried the ball five times for 12 yards and scored a touchdown.

Jacob Androli caught two passes for 27 yards and scored a touchdown.

WEM scored on every possession Thursday. They opened with a 16-yard touchdown run by Zach Quast at 7:46 in the first quarter.

Talen Taylor scored with 5:13 left in the opening quarter on a 55-yard punt return.
