Charlene “Char” A. Schroeder, 83

Charlene “Char” A. Schroeder, age 83, of Morristown, died on Friday, June 16, 2023, at Allina Health Faribault Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held at First English Lutheran Church, Faribault, on Wednesday, June 21, 2023 at 10:30 a.m.  The Reverend Mark Johnson will officiate.  Interment will be at Meadow Ridge Memorial Park, Faribault.

Visitation will be at Boldt Funeral Home, Faribault, on Tuesday, June 20, 2023 from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. and for one hour prior to the service at the church. 

Char was born on February 23, 1940, to Charles and Johanna (Sorbel) Ulen in Morristown.  She married Maynard Schroeder on April 25, 1959 at First English Lutheran Church, Faribault. She was previously employed in food service at St. Olaf College. Char loved crocheting blankets, tending to her flowers and yard, spending time in her gazebo and she was an avid bowler.

She is survived by her children, Daniel (and Marilyn Petersen) Schroeder of Northfield, Michael (and Ruth Ann) Schroeder of Castle Rock, Kimberly Wagner of Ladson, SC, and Kris (and Dave) Kotz of Morristown; six grandchildren, Michelle (and Jason) Smith, Derek (and Erica Rowe) Schroeder, Ashley (and Zack) Williamson, Alex Wagner, Rachel (and Luke) Ruzicka and Kylie (and Kaleb) Singleton; great-grandchildren, Kaylie, Abbie, Maggie, Gabe, Braelyn, Jasper, Nora, Kash, Roy, Stevie Lynn and baby W. on the way; three sisters, Maxine Nordmeier, Sandra Krause and Noreen Kalien; and one sister-in-law, Karen Schroeder.

Char was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, Victor (and Iris), Clayton (and Pat), Myron (and Ione) and Ron Ulen; and sisters, Carol (and Ed) Anderson, Lois (and Gordy) Kramer, Betty (and Curt) Weum and Joanne (and Jerry) Schwichtenberg; brothers-in-law, Don Nordmeier, Gordy Krause and Orman Kalien.
