City, school, county, and state offices on the ballot State general election set for November 8

Local residents will have a chance to cast their ballots for local, county, state, and school board candidates during the Tuesday, Nov. 8 state general election.

Waterville residents will have a race for two city council positions and four Tri City United School Board members. They will also be voting for US. Representatives, State Representatives, and a county commissioner.

Morristown residents will also be voting for two city council positions, State Senator, US. Representative, and they also have races for Rice County Sheriff and Rice County Attorney.

Elysian residents will be voting for mayor, city council, US. Representative, State Senator, and State Representative. A small portion of the community will be voting for Waseca County Sheriff and attorney.

Kilkenny residents will be voting for Tri City United School Board, state and county races, and mayor and city council positions.

All residents will also cast their ballots for Governor and Lieutenant Governor, Secretary of State, State Auditor, and Attorney General.

Here is closer look at the candidates for each community and polling places in this area:

Waterville Four candidates will need to be elected from this list of five individuals running for Waterville City Council - Nick Bongers, Sean McCaslin, Roy McIntyre, and David Wollin. McIntrye and Wollin are incumbents.

Daryl Bauer is running unopposed for mayor. Incumbents Jon Bakken and Gary Michael along with Brenda Heuss and Troy Tolzman are on the ballot for one of four WEM School Board spots.

Also running unopposed will be Le Sueur County Sheriff Brett Mason, Recorder Sharon Budin, and Attorney Brent Christian.

Incumbent Lance Wetzel will face a challenge from David Preisler for the Le Sueur County 4th District Commissioner office.

Angie Craig and Tyler Kistner will be vying for the U.S. Representative District 2 position. Brian Pfarr and Marcia Stapleton are running for the State Rep. District 22B position. Rich Draheim is running unopposed for the State Senator District 22 position.

Elysian Residents of this community will be voting for mayor and city council. Mayor candidates include incumbent Thomas McBroom and challenger James Kaufman.

City council candidates will include incumbents Dennis Schnoor and Bryan Suemnick and challengers Liz Hartzler and Dante Rand.

Incumbents Jon Bakken and Gary Michael along with Brenda Heuss and Troy Tolzman are on the ballot for one of four WEM School Board spots.

Also running unopposed will be Le Sueur County Sheriff Brett Mason, Recorder Sharon Budin, and Attorney Brent Christian.

Morristown Incumbent Ralph Barney will be joined on the ballot for city council by Joe Caldwell, Leon Gregor, and Mike O’Rourke. There are two spots open. Incumbent mayor Tony Lindahl is running unopposed.

Residents will also be voting for Rice County Sheriff (Ross Spicer or Jesse Thomas) and Rice County Attorney (John Fossum or Brian Mortenson). They will also decide between Brian Daniels and Carolyn Treadway for State Rep. District 19A and John Jasinski and Kate Falvey for State Senator District 19.

Kilkenny Incumbent Mayor Cameron Hankins is running unopposed as are incumbent council members Robert A. Busta and Tammy Holicky. Residents will also be voting for Le Sueur County 4th District Commissioner. The race is between incumbent Lance Wetzel and David Preisler.

Morristown City and Township Morristown Community Center 402 Division St. S.

Warsaw Township Warsaw Town Hall 22955 Dalton Ave., Faribault Kilkenny residents voted by mail-in ballot
