Donald Randall Carnahan, 74

Donald Randall Carnahan, age 74, of Elysian, died on Tuesday, January 4, 2021 at his home.
Memorial visitation was 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday, January 14, 2022 at the Northview – North Mankato Mortuary, 2060 Commerce Drive, North Mankato.
Donald Randall, the son of Donald and Alice (Richter) Carnahan, was born on April 16, 1947 in Primghar, IA. He graduated from Worthington High School in 1965 and received his bachelor’s degree from Minnesota State University, Mankato. In 1969, he married Lana Kennedy and they later divorced. Don made a career as a railroad engineer with Chicago Northwestern, now known as Union Pacific. He was an avid gardener and outdoorsman, a strong union member, enjoyed politics and getting together with friends.
He is survived by sons, Chris Carnahan (Cheri Hanson) of North Mankato, Jon Carnahan of Burnsville, and Shane Carnahan of Burnsville; grandchildren, Kaylee and Cody; siblings, Lon (Linda) Carnahan, Laurita (Daniel) Roos, Valerie (Rod) McMartin, Jeff (Elizabeth) Carnahan, and Lynette Schnitker (Randy Kruger); ex-wife, Lana Carnahan; and sister in law, Delores Carnahan.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Lance Carnahan.
