Four Bucs earn All-Gopher Conference recognition
Four WEM girls basketball players were honored by Gopher Conference coaches following the end of the 2021-22 season.
Sophomore Alayna Atherton was named to the All-Gopher Conference Second Team. Sophomore Claire Bohlen was named to the All-Gopher Conference Third Team. Junior Addy Taylor was named to the All-Gopher Conference honorable Mention Team. Senior Rylee Pelant received the Sportsmanship Award.
Atherton was leading scorer and leading rebounder for the Bucs in conference plays. She averaged 12.6 points, 10 rebounds and added 23 steals, 26 assists, and a team-leading 21 blocked shots. She set a single game record with 19 rebounds in a game.
Bohlen was the second leading scorer, averaging 10.4 points in conference she also averaged almost seven rebounds and led the team with 34 steals, 24 deflections, and had 23 assists.
Taylor averaged seven points per game in conference. She grabbed 25 rebounds, and 27 steals, 24 deflections, and a team-leading 41 assists in 16 conference games.
