Grizzlies place first and second in Pie Run
The results from the WEM/ JWP Pie Run Invitational Thursday, Sept. 30 were about as good as they could get for the Grizzly runners.
The boys team won the six team invitational with a score of 31 points. NRHEG (59), Blooming Prairie (70), Maple River (75), and Blue Earth Area (120) followed the Grizzlies.
The girls placed second in the six team field with 63 points. NRHEG captured the title with 42 points. WEM/ JWP was followed by Blooming Prairie (67), Maple River (71), and Medford (90).
The top five Grizzly boys placed in the top 15. All five of these runners are sophomores. Landon Dimler placed second in a time of 18:31. Maple River junior Cole Stencel ran with Dimler until late in the race when he took off and finished in 17:57. Placing third was Hosea Baker of Blooming Prairie in 19:39.
Jasper Morris placed sixth in 20:06. Josh Bengtson placed eighth in 20:17. Memphis James placed 13th in 20:52. Gavin Krause placed 14th in 20:57. Senior Michael Adams placed 18th in 21:37.
