Leona was born on February 11, 1937, in Vivian Township, Waseca County, to Louis and Anna (Fogal) Groskreutz. She attended rural country school in Waseca County. On October 17, 1964, Leona was united in marriage to Keith Quast in Mapleton, Minnesota. Together they made their home on the Quast Family Farm in rural Waterville. She loved decorating cakes, and listening to music, especially when her great-nephew, Ben would come and play his guitar.  Leona had a love for cats since childhood and, while living on the farm, had many of them, all who were individually named and meant a great deal to her. In her later years, Leona lived at the Good Samaritan Society in Waterville before moving to Colony Court. For the past five years she has been residing at LakeShore Inn Rehabilitation Center in Waseca where she enjoyed playing bingo and 6-5-4 with the other residents as well as visiting with many people in person or on the telephone. Leona was a longtime, active member of a couple of area churches at different times; the Cannonville United Methodist Church (now Cannonville Community Church) in rural Le Sueur County and the Elysian United Methodist Church. Blessed be her memory.

Leona is survived by her sister, Adeline Buss of Elysian; nieces and nephews: Dan and Susan Groskreutz of Edina, Joel and Renae Groskreutz of Waldorf, Tamara and David Vendt of Elysian, and David and Carolyn Bowers–Buss of Port Orchard, Washington; great-nieces and great-nephews, Amanda (Charlie) Graham, Benjamin Groskreutz, Anna Groskreutz, Margot Groskreutz, Casey Groskreutz and Jacob (Abigail) Vendt.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; two children in infancy; brother, Alvin Groskreutz; sister-in-law, Shirley Groskreutz; brother-in-law, Arvel Buss, one niece, Tamela Groskreutz; two nephews, Ron and Wesley Groskreutz; one great-niece, Emily Groskreutz; and one great-nephew, Matthew Vendt.
