Play three games this week Indians split two league games

Waterville Indians fans were treated to gorgeous weather and a fantastic baseball game Sunday, July 12.

Waterville scored two runs in the bottom of the 10th inning to defeat Blue Earth, 10-9 in 13-60 League action.

The Indians, 2-1 overall, scored single runs in the eighth and ninth innings to tie the game at 8-all after the Pirates exploded for five seventh inning runs to take an 8-6 lead.

In the eighth inning, Nolan Grose led off with a line drive home run to right field.

In the bottom of the ninth, Luke Sellner walked and advanced to second on a misplayed ball hit by N. Grose. Dalton Grose knocks in Sellner with a single to left to tie the game at 8-all.

A walk, an error, and a single gave the Pirates a 9-8 lead in the top of the 10th. The inning ended when Kane Malo hit into a third, to catcher, to first double play.

In the bottom of the 10th inning Tommy Gannon walked and went to second when Ty Kaus’ ground ball was booted by the Blue Earth second baseman.

Stier layed down a sacrifice bunt, moving both runners up a base.

Sellner ended the contest with a line drive two-run single to left centerfield.

D. Grose started the game and pitched.....
