Richard Wesley Fredenburg, Jr, 65

Richard Wesley Fredenburg, Jr, age 65, passed away at the Veterans Hospital in Minneapolis on Wednesday, October 28th, 2020 after a hard-fought battle with cancer. He was born on November 27th, 1954 in Northfield, MN to Richard and Beverly (St. Martin) Fredenburg.

He left Waterville High school at the end of his senior year to join the Marine Corp. in 1973 and later obtained his GED. He served a tour of duty in Vietnam and was honorably discharged in 1975.

He was a long-haul trucker for many years and loved being on the open road. Richie was a talented guitar player from a young age, playing in bands and jamming with friends.

He enjoyed fishing, gambling, playing poker, road trips all around the U.S. and his many cats over the years.

He is survived by his partner of 31 years Kathi (Buffy) Heckenliable, son, Matthew (Sammy) Fredenburg, grandsons Ian, Christopher and Zaiden, brothers Peter, Paul (Deanna) and Tracy (Paula), sisters Cheryl (Dan) and Nellie (Doug), and many other nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.

A Celebration of Life will take place on Friday, November 6th at the Waterville Event Center in Waterville, MN from 4-8 p.m.
