Belle Plaine knocks off TCU in regular season finale

Belle Plaine used a strong second half to defeat Tri-City United, 67-52, Tuesday, Feb. 28 in the regular season finale for both teams.

TCU opened up an early 19-5 lead but by halftime the two teams were nearly heads-up. Belle Plaine hit a three-pointer to go ahead by six points with seven minutes to play and continued to extend their lead the remainder of the contest.

Belle Plaine was able to outrebound the Titans as Tri-City United was only able to gather 24 total rebounds in the game. Belle Plaine was able to snag 15 offensive rebounds alone, which they turned into 20 points. The Titans shot 19-of-42 from the field (14-of-33 2-pt, 5-of-9 3-pt), 10 of which they assisted on. They were able to gather eight steals but turned the ball over 16 times. 

The Titans were able to get three players in double figures (Luke Holicky 16, Hank Holicky 13, Reggie Vosejpka 10). Abdoulaye Tandia also chipped in seven points. Reggie Vosejpka also chipped in eight points and five assists.
