City-Wide Clean Up this Saturday 

It's time to clean up! Montgomery's City-Wide Clean Up will be held this Saturday, May 12. Appliances and electronics with the required, paid-in-advance tags will be picked up at the curbside, while all non-hazardous household waste will need to be hauled to the city's public works garage and paid for at the time of drop off. 

Residents who live in the city limits of Montgomery may drop off general, non-hazardous household waste such as furniture (couches, chairs, tables, mattresses, box springs, etc.), small amounts of remodeling materials (siding, dried-out paint cans, carpet, etc.), and scrap metal at the city's public works garage between 8 a.m. and noon. 

All items should be boxed, bagged or contained in some manner. The fee for disposing of the material will be estimated by staff based on the amount of material dropped off. An average load is estimated to cost between $25 and $35 for disposal. Payment may be made with check or cash. 

Tires and pickup loads of loose shingles will not be accepted. 

Keep Electronics and Appliances at the Curb

Anyone wanting to dispose of electronics or appliances will need to purchase tags at City Hall prior to the clean up and have the items on the curb by 8 a.m. May 12. 

Unacceptable items include: Asbestos, batteries (auto, flashlight, rechargeable, etc.), chemical products (herbicides, pesticides), fluorescent tubes and light bulbs, liquid wastes (paints, thinners, removers), oils, radioactive materials, tires, yard waste, and hazardous, industrial and infectious waste.  

Waste Management has the right to determine final acceptability of items.
