MACC reveals Kolacky Days’ button
Rachel Rynda was the 2020 Kolacky Queen, and now she can add another Kolacky Days title to her résumé: button designer. More specifically, the winning Kolacky Days button designer.
The Montgomery Area Community Club (MACC) announced Rynda’s winning design on Saturday, March 5, the first day of this year’s Membership Drive. (If you missed it, the MACC’s second day of their drive - with membership sign-up goodies - is Saturday, March 19 at Franke’s Bakery.)
Rynda’s design was submitted after the MACC asked for designs in late October/early November. President Tom Washa said the organization received only 2 designs this year, which is the lowest number of submissions since 2015. Last year, it received ten. In 2020 it received eight. In 2019, it received 11.
The other button focused on the Czech roots with the flag and a black silhouette of folk dancers.
Washa said voting was done by all MACC members.
“This is the seventh year that we have opened the selection process to ALL (264 in total) members, who were either invited to ask for a ballot via email or stop in before or during our MACC Annual
Meeting in November at the American Legion. It’s one of the perks of being a MACC member,” he said.
Among the honor of having the winning design, Rynda will receive $100 in Monty Bucks, a Kolacky Days T-Shirt, a limited edition oversized...
