Miss Czech Slovak Minnesota Pageant is April 15

The 34th annual Miss Czech Slovak Minnesota Pageant is Saturday, April 15 at the Montgomery American Legion.

Dinner, only available with advanced ticket sales, will be from 5 to 6 p.m. and includes pork, dumplings, sauerkraut and kolacky. The after dinner program emcee’s are Anne Jans and Heather Vikla Dovias. The Czech Little Sisters are Annika and Adalyn Budin. Wyatt Jans will be a Czech helper.

The Miss Czech Slovak Minnesota Pageant, focusing on Czech Slovak heritage, will begin at 7 p.m. with Steve Flicek and Marisa Winget as your emcees. A reception will follow the pageant featuring free cake, coffee, juice, and music provided by Larry Jindra.

Candidates at the pageant this year will compete in categories of talent, ethnic folk dress, on-stage interview, poise and appearance, and private interviews. All contestants must be of Czech, Moravian or Slovak descent and be between ages 16 and 26. In preparation for the pageant, candidates must furnish their family tree and indicate which members are of the above noted descent.
