Richard James DeCoux, 82

Richard James DeCoux, age 82, of Montgomery, passed away on Wednesday, July 10, 2024, at Traditions of Montgomery. Visitation will be held on Friday, August 2 from 10-11 a.m. with a Funeral service at 11 a.m. all held at Schoenbauer Funeral Home in Montgomery.

Richard was born on December 5, 1941, at the Rice County Hospital in Faribault to Frank and Helen (Sobrak) DeCoux. He was united in marriage to Nancy Gassman on June 2, 1962, at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Montgomery. He worked as a machinist for Toro for many years. Richard enjoyed fixing lawn mowers, camping, building replica steamboats, and especially spending time with his family. Richard was a member of the Montgomery Fire Department for over 20 years.

Richard is survived by his children, Cathy (Dean) Stasney of Montgomery, Corrine DeCoux of Le Center, and Ruth DeCoux of Montgomery; grandchildren, Elizabeth (Joe) Giesen, Kristen (Travis) Tegmeier, Coleman Klaras, Tadd (Veronica) Stasney, Jayden (Lucy) Stasney, and Anastasia Stasney; great-grandchildren, Jacob Klaras, Peyton Giesen, Ethan Giesen, Mason Tegmeier, Theodore Stasney, and Wesley Stasney; siblings, Sharon (Marvin) Dahn of Fertile, IA, Barb Friesen of Faribault, Donna (Don) Brokl of Montgomery, Gary (Beth) DeCoux of Owatonna; sister-in-law, Darlene DeCoux of Faribault; brother-in-law, Wally David of Owatonna.

Richard is preceded in death by his wife, Nancy DeCoux; his parents, Frank and Helen; brother, Kenny DeCoux; brother-in-law, Jerry Friesen, and sister, Elaine David.
