Titans fall to Sibley East 2-19
The Tri-City United Titans hosted their first home game of the 2020 season on Friday, Oct. 16 and were defeated by the Sibley East Wolverines with a score of 2-19.
The first quarter found both teams battling for yardage and a touchdown, with neither making it to the end zone.
The Wolverines were successful in the second quarter on a 64-yard run.
TCU’s Mason O’Malley, a middle line backer, put the Titans’ only score on the board in the third quarter with a two-point safety. Sibley East matched the points when it successfully punched in a two-yard run.
The fourth quarter saw the Titans unable to score, and the Wolverines picking up on an 80-yard run.
TCU finished with 52 plays for a total of 149 yards, to the Wolverines’ 52 plays for 210 yards. The Titans passed 90 yards in the air, to Sibley East’s 9 yards.
The Titans rushed for 59 yards to the visiting team’s 201 yards.
Interceptions were a problem for TCU. They lost a fumble, had 4 passes intercepted, and received 7 penalties for a total of 52 yards. Compared to Sibley East who had one interception and just 3 penalties.
