Montgomery National Golf Club Owner Greg McKush (second from left) gave tours of the construction progress of the club’s new log cabin clubhouse and event center on Jan. 28.

Montgomery National Golf Club Owner Greg McKush wants his golf course and clubhouse to be more than just about golf. The log cabin and event center, which is under construction, will aim to do that.
“We want to be the place you enjoy spending time with family and friends,” McKush said on Saturday.
McKush gave public tours of the multi-level, 11,000-square-foot space on Saturday. Once completed this fall, the space will include a catering area that will accommodate weddings, meetings, and parties of up to 300 people, more if seated outdoors. The center will also have a bar, fireplace with a floor-to-ceiling rock face, and other amenities to attract people to Montgomery.
“The Overlook Clubhouse,” will have an octagon-shaped pro shop under its turret. It will be 600 feet of viewing area on both levels, boasting incredible views of the course. “You’ll be able to see the whole golf course. The ‘hat’ will peak at 18 feet,” he said.
McKush continues his passion for the Beatles, and the world’s first music-themed championship 18-hole golf course, to the new building. Visitors will notice subtle references to the band from Liverpool, England. “The Beatles have a song ‘Number 9’ so that will be on the elevator,” he said, “Upstairs will be ’13’.”
