Clarence Hruby, 92
Clarence Hruby, 92, of Montgomery, passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2019, at his home surrounded by his family.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, Oct. 13 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Schoenbauer Funeral Home in Montgomery. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Monday, Oct. 14 at 10 a.m. at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Montgomery with visitation one hour prior at the funeral home with Father Tom Niehaus officiating. Interment will be held in Calvary Cemetery in Montgomery.
Clarence was born on April 4, 1927, in New Prague to Joseph and Mary (Petricka) Hruby. At a young age, Clarence’s mother passed away. Clarence’s father remarried Betty Turek.
Clarence attended St. Raphael’s and was a graduate of Montgomery High School. He served in the US Navy and was united in marriage to the love of his life, Dorothy Duzan, on May 14, 1949, at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Montgomery.
He was a John Deere dealer, and also owner and operator of Hruby Rentals, both in Montgomery. Clarence was a proud member of the Montgomery Volunteer Fire Department, Knights of Columbus, and the Montgomery American Legion.
He enjoyed spending time with his family, traveling, cooking, dancing, fishing, and working.
Clarence is survived by his children, Richard Hruby of Bloomington, Chris (Mark) Bisek of Montgomery, Mike (Robyn) Hruby of Montgomery, and Lisa (Tony) Kozitza of North Mankato; son-in-law, Dale Ferguson of Colorado Springs, CO.; 13 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; sister, JoAnn (Jack) Holomek of Montgomery.
Clarence is preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy; parents, daughter, Sue Ferguson, and sisters, Eleanor Kauffman and Marietta O’Brien.
