Express looking to string together some wins

After a pair of tough setbacks in the past week, the Elko Express are in an unfamiliar place – needing a victory to build momentum.
At 6-9 overall, the Express fell to Hampton Sunday, June 15, in Hampton.
The Express took an early 3-2 lead after the first inning but then saw the Cardinals tie the game in the third inning and build a 5-3 advantage after four innings.
Elko built a 10-5 lead entering the bottom of the eighth, but Hampton rallied, scoring four times in the eighth and twice more in the bottom of the ninth for the win.
Miesville 17, Express 9 On a rainy, blustery Friday evening, June 13, the Mudhens took advantage of four Elko errors and cruised to a big win.
Elko led the game, 3-1, after three innings, but Miesville scored once in the fourth and 11 times in the seventh, erasing a 4-2 deficit. The Express tried to fight back, scoring five times in the home half of the eighth inning, but the Mudhens answered with three runs in the top of the ninth.

St. Patrick 14, New Market Muskies 7 St. Patrick jumped out to a quick 3-0 lead in the first inning and didn't look back as the Irish went on to a big win over New Market Sunday, June 15.
Zach Stroh got the scoring started with an RBI double, followed by a Ryan Friedges’ RBI single. In the second, the Irish tacked on six more runs, thanks to a Ryan Wickman sacrifice fly and a Ryan Friedges two-RBI single. Mikey Gottschalk added a three-run homer.
The Muskies hit a solo HR in the bottom of the second, and added two more in the third inning. In the fourth, Ryan Friedges hit a three-run homer to make it 12-3 for St. Patrick.
New Market added a two-run HR in the seventh, and the Irish added two solo round-trippers in the eighth inning from Ben Taxdahl and Coltin Smith.
The Muskies added two scores in the eighth, but it was too late, as the Irish sped to a 14-7 win.
Zak Endres went 4 innings for the Irish on the mound and Fritz Meyer finished in relief.
Union Hill 9, New Prague 3 The Bulldogs used nine hits and two solo home runs from Joe Becker to top the Orioles in a Father’s Day matinee Sunday at Don Giesen Field.
The Bulldogs scored twice in the first and added two more runs in the fifth inning. Four more runs in the seventh iced the win.
New Prague scored twice in the fourth and once more in the sixth, but couldn’t keep pace with Union Hill. The Bulldogs outhit the Orioles, 9-5.
Conrad Masberg and Joe Becker finished with two RBIs each. Will Busch, Tomas Lee, Jack Giesen and Jack Becker had RBIs for Union Hill.
St. Patrick 11, Webster 1 Korey Dahlberg was the starting and winning pitcher for the Irish. His only blemish was an unearned run in the first inning as St. Patrick went on to win big in seven innings Friday, June 13.
Ben Taxdahl had three RBIs and a double. Ryan Friedges scored twice and Zach Stroh had two hits and two runs scored.
Webster's Kutter Herzig took the loss on the mound. He also scored Webster's lone run in the June 13 tilt.
Shakopee Indians 12, St. Patrick 2 Viktor Poinar started for the Irish and took the loss. St. Patrick committed a few costly errors on defense and its sluggers could not get the bats going in a 12-2 loss Wednesday, June 11.
Ryan Friedges had the lone RBI for the Irish via a sacrifice fly.
