Herbert “Frank” Thomas, 90

Herbert “Frank” Thomas, 90, of Montgomery, died on Saturday, Oct. 12, 2019, at Central Health Care in Le Center. Visitation will be held on Thursday, Oct. 17, from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. with a rosary at 10 a.m. and Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m. at Most Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Montgomery.

Interment will be in St. Scholastica Catholic Cemetery in Heidelberg.

Frank was born on December 17, 1928, in Portland, Oregon to Herbert Franklin and Mabel (O’Brien) Thomas. Frank was a 1946 graduate of Lincoln High School in Portland, Oregon. He then attended Oregon State for two years and graduated from the University of Oregon.

Frank served in the United States Military during the Korean War. He was united in marriage to Virginia “Ginny” Moes on August 22, 1959.

Frank was a self-employed lumber broker and worked in the lumber business for most of his life. He enjoyed playing tennis, downhill skiing, playing bridge, sailing, and watching his grandchildren’s sporting events.

Frank is survived by his children, Jeannine Mogan of Biwabik, Mike Thomas of Duluth, Colleen (Michael) Traxler of New Prague, and Dan (Sharon) Thomas of Bloomington; grandchildren, Melissa (Kyle) Vining, Kyle Mogan (Micky Marroquin), Matthew Thomas, John Traxler, Sally Traxler, and Tommy Traxler.

Frank is preceded in death by his wife, Virginia “Ginny” Thomas; his parents; siblings, Marjorie (Pat) Lonergan, and William Thomas.
