Lonsdale to discuss potential housing project
The Lonsdale City Council has scheduled a work session to be held prior to their regularly scheduled meeting on May 12 to discuss the current and future housing needs within the city.
Lonsdale City Administrator Joel Erickson said that staff was recently contacted by a builder regarding a potential housing project that would include market rate rental townhomes.
At this time, according to Erickson, there are no properties available that are currently zoned for multi-family housing.
After further discussions between city staff, Lonsdale Mayor Tim Rud, and the builder, it was determined that a work session was needed with the planning commission to discuss this proposed project and to determine various housing options and the housing needs of the community.
The work session will take place in council chambers at Lonsdale City Hall at 6 p.m. on Thursday, May 12.
