Raaen and Choudek each score five goals
The New Prague Adapted Floor Hockey team continued its unbeaten winter season with a pair of wins last week.
The Trojans defeated South Suburban, 11-1, Tuesday, Feb. 18 and Winona, 13-1, Thursday, Feb. 20.
In the win over South Suburban, Dylan Raaen scored five goals, Leo Fahey scored three goals, and Mathew Boike added two goals.
Garrett Gagner had four assists and Seth Dorner had three assists.
“We played a very solid game all around. Garrett Gagner has been outstanding as of late at center for us, he really controls the entire floor and helps out on the defensive side so well that it leads to a ton of offensive chances for us,” Trojan coach Jeremy Kalal said. “Seth Dorner and Evan Minar have been playing unbelievably well on the defensive side of things for us as well. Our goalies have all stepped up and are making us a very strong team right now. We feel that we are firing on all cylinders right now and we are eager to start preparing for the State tournament.”
In the win over Winona, which was Senior Night, Evan Choudek scored five goals and Seth Dorner added three goals. Chase Smith and Dani Jorgenson had a goal and an assist.
“Being senior night we started all six seniors and they were able to control the game for us from the get go. Winona is a team that is struggling this year and it was great to get everyone in the varsity game and get all our seniors recognized for their years of commitment to our team,” Kalal said.
The six Trojan seniors this year are Garrett Gagner, Seth Dorner, Cory Geelan, Leo Fahey, Evan Choudek, and Danielle Jorgenson.
The State Tournament is scheduled for Friday, March 13 and Saturday, March 14.
