Rudolph J. Skluzacek, 92

Rudolph J. Skluzacek, age 92 of Lonsdale, Minnesota, went home to the Lord on July 1, 2023.

He was born May 29, 1931 to Frank J. and Hedwig (Pekar) Skluzacek on the home farm in Wheatland Township.

Rudy farmed on the family century farm his entire life.  He also was employed at McQuay, in Faribault, and McNamara Construction. 

He served his country in Alaska during the Korean War.  He was a proud, active, lifetime member of the American Legion Post 586 for 71 years. 

Faith, family and friends have always been a priority in Rudy’s life.  Leaving a family legacy was his passion.  His other interests were fishing, hunting, John Deere equipment and card games.

He was preceded in death by his siblings: Clement Skluzacek, Rev. Alfred Skluzacek, Alois Skluzacek, Victoria Wagner, Ann Pint and Ernest Skluzacek.

Rudy is survived by his loving wife, Arlene (Tupy) Skluzacek for seventy years. Daughters are;  Sharon (Ken) Malecha, Sandra Tuma, Laure (Mike Maurine) Skluzacek; sons include: Lyle (Sandi) Skluzacek, Brian (Angie) Skluzacek, Bruce (Lisa) Skluzacek, Eric (Bobbie) Skluzacek.  19 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. 

Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 9, 2023, at White Funeral Home in Lonsdale, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.

A funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m., on Monday, July 10, 2023, at Immaculate Conception Church in Lonsdale.  Morning viewing will be held an hour prior to mass at the funeral home. Interment with Military honors at the Calvary Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in memory of Rudy to the Lonsdale American Legion, Post 586.
