Three games played in DRS last week

Only three games were played in the DRS Amateur Baseball League last week.

COVID-19 has been detected in players on four teams which limited the amount of games played.

Here is a look at the games which were played.

St. Patrick 9, Prior Lake 1 The Irish exploded for 17 hits and limited the Mudcats to only two hits in their first league game this season June 30. Collin Denk pitched the first 6 1/3 innings, allowing one earned run on two hits. He struck out eight and did not walk a batter. Phillip Garcia and Zach Seurer also tossed an inning. Jack Friedges had a monster night for St. Patrick, going 4-for-5 with three runs scored, two RBI, a double, and a triple. Derrick Isaacson added three hits including a double. Kyle Rhodus, Seth Ambroz, and Jordan Goracke each added two hits. Luke Wenber pitched the first four innings for Prior Lake and was the hard luck loser, allowing only one hit. The Irish scored five runs in the sixth and three more in the seventh off Johnny Houston. Cole Bjorge and Ben Morrison had the two hits for the Mudcats.

Prior Lake 7, Union Hill 6 The Mudcats rebounded for their first DRS League win with a 7-6 victory over Union Hill Wednesday, July 1. Ben Morrison picked up the pitching victory, allowing six runs on eight hits through 6 1/3 innings. Alex Wattermann earned the save, pitching the final 2 2/3 innings. The Mudcats trailed 5-4 before scoring three runs in the top of the seventh. Jonny Houston and Corbin Cross each collected two hits, scored a run, and knocked in a run. Cole Bjorge hit a home run and knocked in two. Union Hill was led by Will Busch with two hits, including a triple, Jack Becker with two hits, including a home run, and Nathan Berg with a pair of RBI and a home run. Former Waterville Indian Nate Lee was 1-for-3 with two runs scored and an RBI.

Lonsdale 4, Veseli 3 The Aces picked up their second league win Friday, July 3. Phil Tisdel led the Lonsdale Aces to the win in the traditional July 3rd game at Trenda Memorial Park in Lonsdale. Tisdel threw 7+ innings surrendering four hits, three walks, and three earned runs while striking out three. Ryan Roby paced the Aces with 2 hits. Matt Perkinson pitched six innings giving up four hits, three walks, and one earned run while getting the no decision for Veseli. Cory Friedges led the Warriors with two hits.
