In Memorial Day ceremonies that will be repeated across the United States, New Prague will honor and remember those who served and who gave all, Monday, May 25, with services at area cemeteries and at memorials.
The day will include ceremonies at the New Prague Veterans Memorial in Memorial Park along East Main Street. In case of inclement weather, the program at the veterans memorial will be held in the Park Ballroom, 300 Lexington Ave. S.
The main speaker at the veterans memorial will be Chief Master Sergeant Jamy L. Tikalsky. She has been retired since October 2022 and dedicated over 31 years of service to the U.S. Tikalsky joined the Air Force in February 1986 as an active-duty inventory management specialist. She completed technical training at Lowry Air Force Base in Colorado and was stationed with the 18th Supply Squadron at Kadena Air Base, Okinawa, Japan. In 1995 Tikalsky left active duty and worked for the U.S. Postal Service.
