Dorothy M. Shimota, age 82, of Montgomery, formerly of New Prague, died peacefully, surrounded by her family on Sunday, December 30, 2018 at Traditions of Montgomery. Dorothy was born July 16, 1936 at Cedar Lake Township, Scott County, MN to John C and Mary (Simota) Pomije. She graduated from New Prague High School and married Edward J. Shimota on April 10, 1956 at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in New Prague. She lived her entire life in the Veseli/New Prague area, where she and her husband raised their six children.
David Charles Baker
It is with great sadness that the family of David Baker of New Prague announces his sudden passing, on Saturday, December 29, 2018, at the age of 52 years. David will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 17 years, Colleen, and his children, Joshua (Linh) and Jessica. David will also be fondly remembered by his grandchildren, Isaac, Nevaeh, Gabriel, Bella, and Ariah, by his mother, Pat, and sisters, Leah (William), Ann (Joe), their daughters, Charlotte and Sara, and extended family and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Baker.
Roger Schoenbauer passed away peacefully on December 23, 2018 at the age of 69. A gathering of family & friends is Tuesday, January 1, 2019 from 4:00 – 7:00 PM at Ballard-Sunder Funeral & Cremation (104 First Street West) in Jordan. Funeral Liturgy is Wednesday, January 2, 2019 at 12:00 Noon with visitation one-hour prior at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church (313 East 2nd Street) in Jordan. Father Neil Bakker will preside. Ann Marie Pint, age 79, of New Prague died at Methodist Hospital in Rochester on Friday December 28, 2018 with her husband at her side. Ann was born on October 26, 1939 in Lonsdale, MN to Frank J. and Hedwig (Pekar) Skluzacek. She attended Immaculate Conception Catholic School in Lonsdale and graduated from Bethlehem Academy in Faribault, MN. After high school she worked at the State Bank of New Prague before attending Beauty School in Minneapolis, and opening her own beauty shop, Ann Marie's Beauty Shop. She married Robert E.
Gladys Kaderlik, 85, of Montgomery passed away on Thursday, Dec. 13, 2018, in Montgomery at her home. Visitation will be on Sunday, Dec. 16 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Schoenbauer Funeral Home in Montgomery. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, Dec. 17 at 11 a.m. at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Montgomery with visitation one hour prior at the funeral home.
Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery in Montgomery.
John F. Bisek, age 91, of New Prague, died peacefully, surrounded by his family on Thursday, December 13, 2018 at Mala Strana Rehabilitation Center. John was born on May 11, 1927 in Helena Township, Scott County to Frank M. and Stephania (Mamer) Bisek. He attended St. Wenceslaus Catholic School and New Prague High School. John served in the U.S. Army in the Korean War and was honorably discharged, receiving 2 bronze service stars. On June 6, 1953, John married Dorothy C.
Lucille H. Schmitz, age 87, of New Prague died peacefully surrounded by her family on Sunday, December 9, 2018, at her home. Lucille was born on September 2, 1931, in Belle Plaine Township, Scott County, MN to Martin and Katherine (Michel) Neisen. She attended country school, married Ralph J. Schmitz on September 2, 1950 at St. John’s Catholic Church in Union Hill, and the couple farmed and raised their family of eleven children on their farm near St.
Francis "Fran" Vohnoutka, age 79, of Battle Lake, MN, formerly of Shakopee, passed away unexpectedly in Galveston, TX. on Monday, December 3, 2018.
Fran was born in St. Patrick, MN, on April 25, 1939, the son of Frank and Bessie (Pavlicek) Vohnoutka. He married Kathleen Geis in Shakopee, MN on September 2, 1961. Prior to retirement Fran was employed as a truck driver.
Charles M. Novak of Detroit Lakes, MN passed away unexpectedly on November 6, 2018. He was 68. Charlie was preceded in death by this parents Edward and Elsie Novak, his sister Jean (Toczek), and his brother Edward. He is survived by his sister Frances, step-sister Janice Madden, sons Philip(Catherine Wernecke), Lucas(Sarah), and Matthew, and granddaughter Lauren.
On Friday, November 30, 2018, Lois Hendricks, 87, passed away surrounded by many family members.
The third of four daughters of a pastor, Lois moved several times – spending her high school years in St. Paul, Chicago and Seattle. She spent a year at St. Olaf College, Northfield, and another at Fairview Nurses Training, St. Paul, before her marriage, on Oct. 27, 1951, to Ralph Hendricks. Lois worked various jobs to support the businesses started by Ralph, most notably at Hy-Point Hatchery, and then as co-founder of Cedar Lake Farm.
Patricia Ann Rynda, age 86, of Montgomery, died on Wednesday, November 28, 2018, at Mala Strana Care Center, New Prague.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Most Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, Montgomery on Saturday, December 1, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be at St. John's Catholic Cemetery, Montgomery.
Visitation will be held at the church for two hours prior to the service on Saturday.

Julia J. Schoenbauer Krautkremer, age 95, of New Prague, died peacefully, surrounded by family on Sunday, November 25, 2018 at Mala Strana Rehabilitation Center. Julie was born on December 12, 1922 in Mahnomen, MN to James J. and Mary (Stolka) Jirik. She attended Mahnomen Country School and married Alfred S. Schoenbauer on November 21, 1944 in Mahnomen. The couple lived in St. Paul for the first years of their marriage and moved to New Prague in 1963. After Alfred’s death in 1974, Julia married Omer A. Krautkremer on April 14, 1978 at St.
Leonard A. Shimota, Age 91 of Hugo passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on November 18th.
Len was an accomplished artist and musician. After serving our country in the Korean War, he came back to work as a designer at Dayton’s for almost 40 years. He is preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Anna and his brother, Wilbert. Len is survived by his wife, Rita; children Lindsay (Don) Sovil, Jenny (Brad Bohlmann), Jon, Patrick; and granddaughter, Casey Sovil.

Memorial service will be 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 27 at St. John Lutheran Church in Belle Plaine, with Pastor Mark Johnson officiating.
