Robert Vogt Jr, 76

Robert Vogt Jr, age 76, of New Prague, died Thursday May 13th, at his home in New Prague.
A celebration of his life will be held at New Day Church in New Prague, June 7th at 11 am with visitation beginning at 9:30. Interment to follow on July 1st at 10:30 at Ft. Snelling Cemetery.
Robert was born in Forked Deer, TN to Robert Sr. and Doris Vogt, November 18th 1944. His family moved to Minnesota in late 1957, and he later graduated from White Bear Lake High School. He enlisted in the Army in 1962 and served 3 years in Vietnam, followed by 2 years in Germany. He returned to the US where he served for 12 years in the Minnesota National Guard. He attended Metropolitan State University and later St. Thomas where he received his Master’s Degree in Business.
Robert married Kathleen Schowalter and adopted her two daughters Jenny and Tracey. Together they had 2 children and resided in Cottage Grove, MN. He later moved to be closer to his daughter and her family, and has been a resident of the Montgomery/New Prague area for 9 years. He enjoyed his gardening, books, church friends, morning coffee at Patty’s, and playing his violin.
Robert is survived by children, Jennifer Vogt of St. Paul, Tracey Autio of Blaine, Jonathan Vogt of Montgomery, and Sarah (Lee) Neisen of Montgomery; grandchildren Chelsie, Kyle, and Joshua; brother Mike and sister Diane; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his parents, sister Nancy, and brother Dennis.
