Area sites for the 2022 General Election

The General Election is on Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2022. New Prague city residents will vote in the gym at the Fitness & Aquatic Center at 410 Central Ave. N. The polls open at 7 a.m. and close at 8 p.m.

New Prague residents will be able to vote for a mayor and two city council seats. The mayoral position is a two-year term and the council seats are four-year terms. Running for re-election are Mayor Duane Jirik and council members Maggie Bass and Rik Seiler.

Voters will also have the chance to choose three school board members. Each of the positions carries a four-year term. Running are Mark Bartusek, Daniel Call, Paul Frykman, Tammara Pexa, Jean Schmidt and Karen Steinhoff. Incumbents running for re-election are Bartusek and Pexa.

The site for voting in Elko New Market is City Hall, 601 Main St. For the general election there are three open seats with incumbent council members Josh Berg and Kate Timmerman, four-year seats, and Mayor Joe Julius, a two-year term, running for re-election. City Hall will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. for the General Election.

Absentee voting in person for the General Election is also taking place at Elko New Market City Hall. Absentee voting began on Friday, Sept. 23, and lasts through Monday, Nov. 7, 2022. City Hall will be open additional hours for General Election absentee voting on Saturday, Nov. 5, from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. and November 7, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
